Manu Ittina

When kids his age seemed to be content playing with fire engines and toy cars, Manu saw his own future and liked it. By the time he was 14, he scripted his entire first production and the appeal of playing with human emotion in a darkened theatre would only grow

stronger.

By the early Nineties, Manu chose to focus even further. The canvas was Visual Arts, and the stage was global. It was New York calling and Manu was selected by the School of Visual Arts. The summers were spent at Sheridan College, Canada. He eventually graduated with honors from the Academy of Art College San Francisco.

Restless to test his skills he took up freelance assignments. This led to his building a portfolio of striking special effects work for X men, Majestic, Louis and Clark etc. In 2003 he began a full time career as a character animator at Dream Works. Hollywood blockbusters such as Shrek2 and Madagascar marked his 5 year tryst with Hollywood. He is now the executive director at Ittina Animation Studios. He has been extensively profiled by leading news papers suchs as Times of India, The Hindu,Deccan Herald, Hindustan Times besides Electronic media such as NDTV.

Ruturaj Arolkar

Ruturaj is the return ticket with a difference. The Mumbai- Bay Area- Mumbai journey has been one that’s rich with experience. A Mechanical Engineer, he soon began dabbling in 3D packages by the year 2000, he moved to San Francisco.

Raj studied Computer Arts at the Academy of Art, majoring in Modeling for Films. The online classes of Maya and Max were guided hugely by his inputs. Together with his engineering background and an eagle eye for detail, Raj earned a name for himself and he took up several freelance projects in the Bay Area.

Mumbai was too strong a call and Raj returned to India by 2005 where he worked as a senior modeler and technical director at Rhythm and Hues. He now heads up Modeling and Layout Departments in Ittina Animation

Bill Miller

Bill’s parents never lectured him on watching less TV. He went on to make a career out of it. Born in the world’s film capital Los Angeles, Bill took to animation like the proverbial fishes diving into water that he would sketch.

His illustrations opened doors and Bill was accepted into the California Institute of Arts, Character Animation Department where he schooled in 2D and 3D animation.

Bill moved out of college early moving into a professional career with Disney Feature Animation.

Having had his hands full with Hydra, Bill moved on to Dreamquest Images (Disney’s special effects company) to animate on the film Mighty Joe Young. Bill’s expertise came to the fore, moving from cartoony style of animation to a more life-like style of animation to match the CG character to live action plates. Japan was the next stop. Bill moved to Japan to become an animation supervisor for Dream Pictures Studio, a joint venture between Sony and Namco. Next, was Polygon pictures in Tokyo where he was the animation director for the short film ’Crocotires’ which won several awards and was featured in the Electronic Theater in Siggraph. Three years later “Bill San” headed back to the US.
