FAQ

How should I apply for a position in Ittina Animation Studios?

Once you see a position of interest listed on the Jobs site, please click on the specific position. You will then receive specific information about how to apply and what we look for in a demo reel and / or portfolio.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Will you contact me regarding the status of my submission?

As huge quantity of resumes and reels are received, we’re unfortunately not able to contact people individually with specific feedback. However, if we feel you are a strong candidate for the position, we will contact you directly to further discuss the position. If during the process, you are not suitable, you will receive an email letting you know our decision ( this process may take approximately 4 weeks).

-------------------------------------------------------------

How do I apply?

Send your resume and a demo reel/portfolio that demonstrates your artistic ability. We require those for all artistic submissions. Your reel must include a shot breakdown that outlines your contribution to each scene as well as the tools used.

Do make sure that each of your submissions is labeled with your name, the position you’re applying for, and contact information. Labeling your materials will help us keep track of your materials.

Do not send us your original reel or portfolio as we are unable to return them.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Can I bring my application in person ?

Yes, You can come and leave your demo reel and resume at the reception, but we do not meet with the candidates unless we have made any appointments. This is because we would like to review your application before meeting any candidates

-------------------------------------------------------------

How long will my resume be kept on file?

Your resume will remain active for 6 months. Otherwise, all resumes are archived for one year.

-------------------------------------------------------------

How often should I re-apply?

Generally, we recommend re-applying after 6 months unless there is a change in your contact information or if you’re interested in applying for a different position.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Do you hire fresher just out of school?

Yes, we do. We look for dedicated and young talented individuals.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Will you return the resume and demo reels?

Due to huge quantities of resumes & demo reels received, it is impossible to return anything. We also retain the same for future reference.

-------------------------------------------------------------

What do you look for in Animators?

We want you to bring the character to life, independent of medium. Computer-graphic technical prowess is of course important, but the emphasis is not as strong within the Animation Department.

Animator should be able to bring life to any object or character, showing the character’s internal thoughts and feelings through its physical external motion. To do this, the Animator must be a good actor. His or her work should communicate clearly, containing simple ideas with which an audience can empathize. The animation should be entertaining to watch, employing good timing and relying on individualized, believable characters to put forth humor and emotion.

The Animator also needs an understanding of physical motion. Knowledge of weight, balance, overlap, texture, and form should be evident in the work. In fact, in evaluating a prospective Animator, we rely very heavily on the demo reel presented by the candidate.

We want to see your ability to demonstrate a strong sense of acting, more so than movement. Reels that show fast moving space ships, etc. are difficult to judge because we're not able to get a sense of someone’s ability to understand physics and the fundamentals of animation. We would much rather see a simple story line with strong acting. We’re interested in your animation ability – not your ability to model, shade and light.
